Sometime in late 2001, Jack Francis's SF Bay Area home studio became a revolving door of sorts... on Friday nights, various musicians from a small tightly knit crew would show up to hang out, jam, drink lots of coffee-- and write/record a song from scratch, switching instruments and genres on any whim. This casual experimentation and recording carried on until fall 2002 sometime.

The results of these sessions were released in early 2003, as a limited edition full-length (the Assholes are Back in Season album). Various extra goodies (B-sides, remixes, studio outtakes, etc) also appeared on the Bm Relocation Program website. And that was that.

The reception to the album was unexpectedly and hugely positive. The initial run of CDs was quickly gone (though replacement runs are still done sporadically). Creative Commons included the song 'superego exchange' on their Copy Me Remix Me compilation and held a worldwide remix contest with it. Submissions came in from as far as Europe and Japan. The song and various remixes remain in heavy internet circulation.

The future of Bm?
Bm was never officially disbanded (since it was never officially 'banded'), so members may resurrect it in the future, for shows or further recording/releases!
