Francisca Gil, better known by her stage name Chita, born in 1997, is an Argentine singer and songwriter.

She began to be interested in music in her childhood, when her father listened to Jazz records. During her adolescence she was part of several Jazz ensembles where she performed classic standards. She studied piano and after finishing high school she began studying at the School of Contemporary Music.

She worked as a salesperson and in a restaurant until 2016 when the solo project Chita was born and she moved to London to study composition. It was in that context that she began to compose her songs and give them life with the help of musicians she recruited from the conservatory. She recorded some songs and uploaded them to SoundCloud. She sent her songs to various live music venues around the city and with positive responses she began a tour. She has performed at venues such as Ronnie Scott Jazz Club, The Monarch, The Finsbury, Troubadour and The Cavendish Arms, among others.

In August 2017, after almost two years outside Argentina, Chita visited Buenos Aires again and had the opportunity to play at the Nün Teatro Bar with Fran Azorai, Guille Salort, Laucha Rico Gomez and Leon Peirone. In November of the same year she returned to stay permanently.

In 2018 she released a self-titled EP Chita with 4 songs and also released 3 singles, among which the song “No Fue” Ft. Ca7riel stands out.

In October 2019 she releases her debut album titled Encanto, which consists of 7 songs, of which the first single is a collaboration with Neo Pistea and 0-600 on the song “Nada Más Que Hablar”.

In 2024, she realesed her sophomore album “Atelier”. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
