There are two bands with the name The Ghoulies:

1) The saga of the ghoulies begins in 1997 when singer and guitarist Mange Le Bange and drummer Rod Bender gets together in Rod's parents garage to play some music with no other intention than to kill some time. Despite being kicked out of the garage after some time the duo decides to continue to jam together. Robban Hellvis joins in on guitar shortly after.

The bands first single What's wrong gets released in early 1998 on the newly started Cretin Records label and the release is shortly followed by the bands first tour outside of Sweden. Two years and a lot of shows later the band releases the Hangin' on single. In late 2000 bass player Carl joins the band to form the current line-up. The third single Turn the world around is his first release with the band. A single which he also recorded in his EAR studio in Uppsala.

In between shows all over Sweden the band gets the opportunity to tour Europe and does so frequently. The tour buss takes them through Germany, Holland and Austria to name a few countries.
After a lot of touring. The band takes a break from the road to start working on their debut album. The band picks out 14 songs for recording and the outcome is named Communication. This explosive punk rock package is recorded and engineered by the ghoulies themselves and the EAR studio is once again used.
Communication was released in September of 2002 as a co-operation between German label Rockstar Records and the Swedish label Beluga Music. The release gets a warm welcome by the underground press in both Sweden and abroad. The legendary punk-magazine Maximum Rock'n'roll writes "..Everything about this release is top notch..." The band also receives credit for their politically challenging and questioning lyrics. One fanzine writes "..Usually, the bands that embrace these trappings tend to dumb down the lyrics to ditties about cars 'n girls and the like but the Ghoulies, from Sweden, are a more thoughtful crew than that.."

The Ghoulies split up in mid 2006!

2) The Ghoulies were a short-lived Canterbury band lead by Charlie Summers and featuring Canterbury stalwarts Dave Sinclair and Pip Pyle. They released one album "Dogged by Dogma" in 1982.
