I-Ray is a Filipino band that plays a mix of rock and reggae. Founders Mac Viviezca(guitars) and Danniel Ancheta(vocals) derived the name from the rastafarian term "irie", which means no worries. The duo have been in and out of different bands since their high school days. They've formed an all covers band, "Jamenicker" and then another, which covered Creed and other alternative material. Although things were getting pretty steady for the two, they've decided to pursue other things and eventually their band dissolved. Consequently, they've lost contact with each other for almost four years but reunited in the summer of 2007 when they've decided to form a band once more. I-Ray had different drummers before settling with their current drummer, Carlo Manalo. They've also added another guitarist to complete their wall of sound. Long time friend and manager Jamil Antonino took the rhythm guitar duties.

While the first two members are avid followers of Bob Marley, Black Uhuru and other reggae musicians, the others are devoted to rock. Thats why their songs are tinged with angst and an undeniable love for reggae. Tackling political topics as evidenced in their songwriting, I-Ray is sure to spark people's interests with their music. With influences ranging from the classics like Led Zep, Cream, Muddy Waters and Black Sabbath and infusing a bit of reggae groove to their heady mixture of rock music, I-Ray is about to explode in the Manila rock scene.

I-Ray will be releasing their debut album mid 2008. A mainstay in the band lineup for Sakdalista Productions, they have played alongside local indie bands Freefish and Good for Grace. Last September, they performed on ABS-CBN’s Mornings on ANC and just recently, the group played at the Third Quarter Storm, a Head on Productions event, with the featured band Epic. I-Ray also played at the Rakaza “Rock for Hope”, a charity event where they shared the stage with rock acts Urbandub, Sinosikat?, Radioactive Sago Project and Spy.
