Mark Thirteen is inspired by and oriented toward post-rock, but also includes ambient elements and historical references while creating brooding, yet dynamic soundscapes where rock structures grind seamlessly atop layers of droning, ambient keyboards.

Mark Thirteen is the solo project of Marc Byers from Austin, TX. Influenced by recent explorations into the Post Rock/Instrumental/Ambient genres, Mark Thirteen grew into a full project in January 2012. The debut CD "Wavelengths and Soundwaves" was started with the goal of recording everything on the iPad and iPhone using a multitude of iOS based instruments and recording apps in combination with various Guitars and Synths recorded directly into the two devices.

Future projects are expected, and new methods of recordings will certainly be explored. Collaboration on future projects is also expected!
