Dammien Alexander the Philadelphia native has been spending the past 5 years writing and recording in Canada. His first release “Beautifully” was a self-produced effort which was subsequently licensed to the Toronto based independent label Curve Music to be distributed by Universal Records Canada. Released digitally in the summer of 2007, but not followed by any recognizable promotion, Alexander has had to be content with a cult-like buzz that consistently garners respect for all of those who know of the debut album. In 2008 he releases “We Are Who We Have Been Waiting For” (Live Village Records). His songs have been called “perfect” (John Book “the run off groove #162”), with a distinctive soul influenced urban rock sound. The new album is being serviced to 340 college and AAA stations through The Planetary Group, marking his first actual US release. Impact for radio is slated for April 2nd. Dammien is to follow this campaign with an International tour in the US, UK and Asian markets from April 23rd - Aug 20th, 2008. Dammien will also be marketing and distributing the video for track #3 “Closer In” shot on 16 mm film to Much Music (Canada), BET (United States) and digitally on Asian and European websites.
The album will be distributed mail order to HMV outlets, digitally (Puretracks and Itunes), and physical distribution thru CDBaby.com
