Lolly Pop is a "nu-electro" artist and protégé of Minneapolis producers Monte Moir (The Time, Janet Jackson, Vanity 6) and Doctor Fink (Prince and The Revolution).

Pop's animated stage presence, savvy sense of style, and striking vocals are frequently compared to pop contemporaries Goldfrapp, Lily Allen, and Gwen Stefani.

Along with UK hitmaker Ricardo Autobahn (Heaven 17, Spray, Daz Sampson), Lolly Pop recently finished writing and producing her solo album; it was released on Valentine's Day, 2007. According to Pop, her eponymous debut is "a tribute to my musical heroes: Adam Ant, RuPaul, Missing Persons, David Bowie, Madonna and all the artists responsible for spreading the 'Minneapolis sound': Lipps Inc, Vanity 6, Prince, The Time, The Jets, Sheila E., Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Information Society et all.”

With the purchase of an Emerson turn table at 8, Lolly Pop was immediately hooked on pop music and showed early signs of impending stardom. As a child she scoured record stores for hits, was a Top of the Pops addict, and produced her own nightly lip sync show (honoring faves such as Cyndi Lauper, Shannon, and Falco).

Pop eventually landed in Minneapolis, home to Prince and other pop luminaries. With $200 in her pocket, she began winding her way through the Minneapolis music scene as a club kid and aspiring artist.

In the 90's Pop received several high profile breaks, first as a dancer for the R&B/funk outfits Clique and B. Thompson. She later worked with Lords of Acid, and was tapped to appear in Prince and the New Power Generation's music video "Get Wild."

After interning at Twin/Tone Records (Soul Asylum, Ween, Babes in Toyland), Pop went on to guest on several albums. In 2002, Pop formed TELEPHONE!, an electronic/hip-hop group that caught the attention of Dr. Fink and Moir.

Under the guidance of Moir, Lolly Pop & The Couture Club (an all-male backing act) was formed. Pop's GLAMOROUS '06 tour, which featured Moir as a member of The Couture Club, launched in November 2006 and drew critical acclaim across North America. Read more on Last.fm.
