Dedication, Passion, and Love are three words that thoroughly describe Mazur’s movement in music today. Growing up in a diverse culture in the city of Brampton, Ontario Mazur has always been attracted to the hip-hop/rap scene from an early age.

Unlike most artists Mazur did not begin by writing lyrics “It all started out with free styling for me I didn’t write my first lyrics till I hit grade nine and even than I was not too focused on making tracks.” Attending St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary, Mazur established his name amongst his peers through free styling battling and cyphering with other local rappers.

The major turning point in Mazur’s career came about in January 2009 “Every day I signed onto facebook there was about five new rappers and out of that five one was decent. That’s not even the bad part, the bad part is every rapper had about 20 comments on the video ‘OMG THIS IS FIRE’ I was thinking to myself com’on seriously, do these people have ears?” Being motivated by his fellow peers Mazur decided to start putting his talent to use, he wanted to get his message across to people he did not know “Every rapper I heard on a daily bases was rapping about pushing crack, AK’s etc, than they would beg people for money at lunch time, I think rap is a way to express my story to the world, do not get me wrong a lot of my friends actually live that lifestyle(drugs, gangs etc.), I Just chose not to follow it. Mazur began to put his music up onto myspace and facebook and began receiving positive vibes from people he did not know “I was getting friends requests by people from Brooklyn, Michigan etc. I mean it was a really good feeling knowing someone other than my friends really enjoyed my music.” On a recent trip to Miami, recording in Opa-Locka, Mazur realized exactly what it was going to take to make it anywhere with music “It was a great experience because I was surrounded by people who live what they rap, real ‘goons’, I mean to them rap was a way to get out, so the time and passion they put in was unreal. It gave me a whole new perspective on my music.”

Now Mazur is at it harder than ever working on his debut mix tape “The Beginning” which will be available to download for free in early July “It has been a real learning experience, step by step making this mix tape, I mean I’m only getting better from here, hopefully I get some positive feedback and people enjoy my work, if not back to the drawing board ha-ha” Mazur is without a doubt a new and upcoming talent that no one should miss out on, he is truly not you everyday rapper.
