Currently living in Chiang Mai, Rasmee Wayrana is from the Isan region of North East Thailand. She grew up in a musical family, her father was the founder of the Khmer folk group, Jariang Band, and started singing at the age of 5. Her music mixes morlam style vocals with soul, blues and jazz elements. It's often been called a mix of Isan and Nina Simone, a hypnotic concoction, that's for sure, and one of the best singers in Thailand of recent years. Read more on Last.fm.
