Throwing Bricks is a metal band based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. This five piece mixes slow crushing sludge riffs with elements of hardcore punk, black metal and screamo.

After releasing their debut album ‘What Will Be Lost’ on Tartarus Records in 2020, the band is back with their second full length, ‘The Burden’. Recorded at Much Luv Studios by Tim de Gieter (Amenra, Doodseskader) and mastered at The Atomic Garden - East Room by Jack Shirley (Comadre), it captures Throwing Bricks at their most melodic and heavy yet. With the addition of spoken word vocals by local artist Shira van der Wouden (Ontaard) throughout the album, the band pushes their sound even further.

Throwing Bricks’ music sounds angry and aggressive, but first and foremost it's emotionally punishing. The feverish lyrics, brutal growls and intensely high screeches, low yet melodic guitar work, grimy bass and pounding drums, they all share a feeling of hopelessness. No matter how hard you fight against it, resistance is futile. Whether you like dark, brooding drones, slow and dragging riffs or insanely fast blast beats, this band has got it all.

‘The Burden’ captures an emotional feeling which comes as close to a Throwing Bricks live show as possible. Get ready to be sucked into a very heavy and loud void.
