Pharoes is a heavy alt-rock band from Malmö, the "Crime City" of Sweden.
With a bunch of different influences, the sound is kind of difficult to categorize into a specific genre or sub-genre. A conscious effort made, since we do not wish to take part in any scene or trend. We don't like to create music within walls or restrictions. It's all about getting the right mood in a song and challenge ourselves performing it.

Our debut album "Circle Of Seasons" is a twelve song-strong beast that we've been trying to tame for the last year and a half. We're almost ready for it's release, and we literally can't wait for people to actually hear what we've been living, eating and breathing for lately.
It's been very difficult to complete this album. We've gone through a lot personal stuff in the process of making this album. That will become pretty clear at the first listen. The music is all over the emotional spectrum with its highs and lows. We would like to think that it could speak to fans of not just heavy music.

Pharoes is not about getting our faces on posters, making money or getting laid. For us, it's all about the material and the performance. We've put our energy and focus where we feel that it actually matters. I mean, who cares about fancy myspace-designs, how many "facebook-likes" you've got, or what t-shirt you wear in the promo pictures? Has it ever impressed anyone? People with actual taste recognize a product or a shitty band trying to hard, right? We've done our best to separate us from all that and just keep it as real as possible.

At the end of the day, what matters is what comes out of your speakers when you press the play button on whatever device you're using. At least that's the world we would like to think that we live in. We want to a band in a world like that. A very honest and real band for people who actually do appreciate the art of music.
