Korperschwache began in 1995 in Austin as a side project of Autodidact. Where that band was all about drone and strange sounds, Korperschwache (the name is German for "organic decay," the cause of death noted on death certificates of those sent to the gas chambers at Auschwitz) was strictly blown-out junk-noise hell built on the maxim that you can never be too loud or too obnoxious. The first four C-60 cassettes were all heavily influenced by the usual sonic criminals -- Whitehouse, Masonna, Merzbow, Contagious Orgasm, etc., etc. The last of the four is probably my favorite of the bunch, but they are all essentially skull-scraping blasts of power-mad violence and volume, and about as subtle as a sandpaper enema.

In 1997 Korperschwache released one C60 and appeared on one side of a split cassette with Antibody, both released by Castrated Tapes. Shortly after recording MYWOMANMYWOMANMYSLAVE (the title being an obscure joke reference to BDSM by way of Marty Robbins), RKF was crippled by tinnitus and swore off high-volume noise death for the next three years. This release was the last of the purely junk-noise releases.

By 2001 RKF felt safe enough (or desperate enough for noise -- either way it amounts to the same) to resume subjecting himself to violent noise death, but this time largely dispensed with the junk-noise elements in favor of the epic layering of overtaxed noise guitar tracks. Recorded in July, 2001 for a release that never happened, on TUMESCENT LOVE SONGS... RKF used just guitar, bass, and a lot of efx pedals to create violent, cascading sheets of scary, dissonant white noise. This album is still good for clearing parties.

The next three albums form a perverse anti-Christian trilogy of sorts. All three were initially recorded in the same manner as TUMESCENT LOVE SONGS (the first two in 2002, the third over one weekend in 2003), but NAZARENE was graced with vocals courtesy of Elektra Sturmschnell (whose lyrics, mostly in German, had absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the disc), and DER ANTIKRIST was radically rebuilt in the mastering stage in 2005. That one was never released, while the other two appeared in 2003 and 2004 on Crucial Blast.

RKF spent less than a year at the Temple of the Devil Kitty, but recorded an avalanche of Koperschwache material there -- five discs worth (the double-cd WINNING HEARTS AND MINDS and the three discs in the OUROBOROS series). WHAM was trimmed down to one disc for public release as TEMPLE OF THE DEVIL KITTY and the best tracks from the OUROBOROS series were whittled down to one disc as VOICE OF THE OUROBOROS. Both discs are tentatively destined for release on Crucial Blast in late 2005 / sometime in 2006. All of this material was a combination of junk noise, layered sounds from many different sources, and catastrophically loud, distorted guitar.


RKF's stay at Dead Trees was brief, but yielded the following material: NIGHT COUNTRY FOG (currently unreleased) and the initial backing tracks for SACRIFICE OF THE OUROBOROS (aka I SEE YOUR BLEACHED WHITE SKULLS ON A LONG AND POINTED ROW OF BLOODSTAINED STICKS). That album was completed at the Death Anvil around the beginning of September, 2005. Korperschwache is currently recording material for a compilation, beginning to piece together a band / configuration for playing more live dates, and preparing to record the next two albums.
