Native to the Northern New Jersey/New York area, Cementation Anxiety is the ambient project from Kyle Nelson of hardcore punk group Bodiless. Although a sonic departure from the intensity of Bodiless, Cementation Anxiety still endeavors to explore the catharsis present in both genres—predominantly through guitar—but also field recordings, oscillators, noise machines, and hardware tools.

Nelson draws influence from the last four decades of ambient, drone, and industrial music—all while channeling the urgency and ethereality of 80’s post-punk and dream-pop. This confluence of sound manifests itself in his dense, yet weightless atmospheres that envelop the listener.

In late 2020, the debut album In Continual was released by Tribe Tapes on cassette and Somewherecold Records on CD. Subsequently, in June of 2021, Trust Collective released the acclaimed Liminal Instability, an EP that explores the dynamics of that which the title proclaims. A month later, Industrial Coast released the more abstract EP Prospects of Dissolution. Before the close of 2021, a split with Infrasubcontra will be released by Parapsych Productions.
