Moment Theory has been described as a melodic, alternative rock blend of The Foo Fighters, A Perfect Circle and Joe Jackson. The band’s musical message is centered on self-discovery through present moment awareness. Regarding the band’s significance, a recent record review from SpaceCityRock.com says, “The lyrics are not only hook-filled but are actually thought-provoking. I personally came away with a rather haunted, yet strangely satisfied, feeling of having had a very fulfilling introspective session.”
Fresh off the high of great local recognition, following 2007’s self titled EP release, the band has hit the studio and plans to ride this momentum into the regional showground. Releasing its sophomore effort early Oct. 2008, anticipation for a full-length record resonates from positive EP reviewers. James McQuiston of Neufutur.com stated, “By establishing themselves as an act that can change their general sound up, individuals will be at the edge of their seats not knowing what to expect. I look forward to hearing more from the band.” Notorious for invoking unconventional guerilla-type promotion, it will be interesting to see how innovative the band will be with their grass-roots attack to promote the upcoming album.
