The Noyrd blends Post-Rock, Prog-Rock, Shoegaze and Screamo lyrics in a One Man Band music project.
Based in Barcelona, Aitor Castella makes noise in his small studio until it actually turns into songs. With Loopers, samplers and offset guitars, The Noyrd provides a unique but straightforward live experience.
At the moment, Aitor is also playing bass with Astenia. In previous years, Aitor has also played with Ways After Eternal Life, a prog-rock band from Barcelona as it's bassist. Hypercube, a prog-rock band from Barcelona with some recordings published, as its bassist.
Influenced by bands like My Bloody Valentine, Porcupine Tree, Tool, Pink Floyd, Alcest, Mogwai, Deftones, Maybeshewill, Viva Belgrado, Radiohead, God Is An Astronaut, Touché Amoré & La Dispute.
"Fulgor Angosto" (2019) and "Cenizas" (2020) are the first two EPs, a first iteration of Post-Rock with live looping techniques, distorted ambiances and some Prog-Rock writing structures.
"Mar Muerto" (2020) introduces to The Noyrd's music style the use of Screamo vocals, heavy riffs and samplers.
"Vorágine" (2021) in collaboration with "The Slaughter Daughter", The Noyrd introduces the use of female vocals with all the above to create a narrative story to its music, in a one-song album format.
With "Salidas/Llegadas", The Noyrd's first album, expecting its release in late 2022, The Noyrd brings the last iteration of his music genre blend, introducing also new sounds and details to it.
