Ariel Cubria’s songs contain a mixture of each of the music styles through which he has passed along his carier; from jazz, pop and rock to bolero and the music of his country, Cuba.
He began to interpret his own songs in 1988, participating in festivals of young creators of Havana, his hometown and he soon developed his role as guitarist that allowed him to enroll in other projects, which he has continued doing parallel to his own music.
In 1998 he sattled in Madrid and worked as a guitarist in recordings and tours with various artists like: Gloria Gaynor, Marta Sanchez, Snowy White (Pink Floyd), Gema Corredera, Betty Missiego, Olga Guillot, Nuno dacamara Pereira, Rita Irasema, Inma Serrano among others.
With his band, that plays “Latin Smooth Jazz”, he travelled a great part of spanish territory, sharing the stage with major artists.
He has also performed in several cities around the world as: New York, London, Buenos Aires, Lisbon, Oporto, Madrid, Barcelona, Roma, Nice, Ljubljana, Havana etc ... In 2005 he played the guitar in the musical Man of La Mancha at the Calderon Theater in Madrid and that same year he composed the music of the play Anna in the Tropics (Pulitzer winner) which premiered at the Alcazar Theatre in the same city.
In 2007 he moved to Buenos Aires, where he worked primarily as a session musician for various projects and he also recorded his first solo album LO QUE VALE DE TI, with special collaborations such as the american pianist and composer Bob Telson (nominated for an Oscar for music of the film Bagdad Café).
Has also made music for Radio and TV advertising.
Since January 2011 he lives in Ljubljana where he's collaborating with artist as Vlado Batista & Stringsi, Andraž Polič, The band Cubismo, Maja Keuc, Tinkara Kovač among others.
