There is more than one artist with this name, including:
1) An American post-hardcore band from California;
2) Austrian singer-songwriter Felix Junger.
1) Yunger is an American post-hardcore formed in Northern California in 2018.
In 2020, Yunger entered the studio with Beau Burchell (Saosin, Senses Fail, Middle Class Rut, Hail The Sun) to create their second EP. With the upcoming EP, Yunger weaves grunge, shoegaze, emo, and dark pop elements into their songs, abandoning the expectations placed on modern rock music to forge their own path.
The Sacramento post-hardcore outfit aims to create organic and heartful music to present a message of hope through the lyrics, inspiring people to overcome their own struggles.
Released on January 21st, YUNGER’s single, My Way Out is influenced by their vocalist’s very personal battle with drug addiction; Jay notes: “My Way Out is about finding your way out of the hell that is drug addiction. It was inspired by my personal experience of fighting through the darkest times in my life, only fueled by any essence of hope. I don’t wish this upon anyone, and I hope this song gives strength to people who need to overcome similar struggles.”
2) Yunger is an Austrian singer-songwriter
Felix Junger is the musician known as Yunger. The guitarist and songwriter is part of multiple different band projects in various types of music, from Jazz via Musical to Post-Hardcore. Felix started his musical journey at an early age when he discovered the classical guitar just to get lost in all kinds of music genres over time. Today, the multi-instrumentalist plays almost all instruments for his records himself.
Since the release of his debut album Of Journeys and other Longings in 2019 Yunger has been touring through Central Europe playing concerts in gardens and living rooms, in pubs, cafés, clubs, small shops and at festivals, playing headline shows and supporting artists like Frank Turner, OSKA and Thorsteinn Einarsson. He released his second album Of Hopes & Dreams in 2022.
After combining classic folk and singer-songwriter elements with the world of modern pop music for his EP Good Day Bad Day (06/2024), Yunger is back in 2025 with his 13-tracks Indie Folk album A Traveller's Story.
