1. Soul and jazz singer Lisa Taylor was a member of Rose Royce and Colour Club, as well as a back-up singer for Patti Labelle, among others. She released a solo album, Secrets Of The Heart, in 1992.

2. Singer-Songwriter Guitarist and Drummer Lisa Taylor began her performance career at the age of 14 as the fearless double pedal rock and roll drummer for the band "Sister". After touring the Mid-Atlantic, she ventured to France with the New Hots Jazz Orchestra then returned to the D.C. area to develop her solo career. Adept at voice and guitar, her original music is clearly influenced by her percussion sensibilities as well as her experiences growing up in a chaotic musical family in the 1970's. Her performances whether solo or accompanied by her band are humorous and touching. Lisa is a Washington Area Music Association (WAMMIE) Winner, a Kerrville New Folk Finalist and a Mountain Stage New Song Finalist. Her music has been played on National Public Radio and "Traditions" with Mary Cliff as well as a variety of folk acoustic radio shows throughout the U.S. She has garnered an impressive array of awards for her own songwriting as well as in studio contributions for dozens of independent artists whose work appears in film and television. Her latest album True North won Best Contemporary Folk Album by the Washington Area Music Association for 2008. Currently Lisa is working on material for her next album and drums in vaious bands including Andrew McKnight and Beyond Borders which features original Nitty Gritty Dirt Band member Les Thompson. You can catch her solo, with her band or accompanying a growing number of musicians at festivals and concert halls. Download True North NOW! DigStation - Indie Music Downloads
