In 2004, a priest shot himself in a rural Oklahoma field. Todd Jackson's outlook on life was transformed the day his friend and role model unexpectedly committed suicide. In that pivotal moment he gave up all other earthly pursuits to live as a full time musician. At that time, Jackson worked as a youth minister and lived in a communal house with the rest of the members of acclaimed Oklahoma City band THE HEX.

Emerging from this talented circle of friends, Brother Gruesome began in 2005. Taking a backseat to The Hex's recording and touring schedule, Brother Gruesome was set aside. Todd Jackson picked the project back up after a three year hiatus, during which he joined Norman, OK's EVANGELICALS as their guitar and keyboard player. Meanwhile, drummer Levi Watson lived in Taos, NM building sustainable Earthship homes. The Duo reunited in 2008 to begin work on new recordings, including a new self-titled cassette EP on Los Angeles based label SLANTY SHANTY RECORDS. Read more on Last.fm.
