Fading Flower Lyrics

You got that walk walk walk
Got that talk talk talk
Got that swagger-er-er
Such a glamor-or-or

You're like a real life doll
With your hair that falls
Like niagara-a-a
But that don't matter-er-er

Cause that don't change the fact
That your heart is black

You can't tear me down
Beat me to the ground
Try to block my sunshine
My blue skies with your clouds
And who do you think you are
Yeah that won't get you far
You may think you're pretty
But you'll see that beauty
Is a fading flower
Fading flow-ow-ow-ower
Fading flow-ow-ow-ower

You'll only play play play
If you get your way always
In the center-er-er
Of attentio-io-ion

All the lying
And the cheating
The mistreating
How you even sleep at ni-igh-igh-ight
Blows my mi-i-i-ind

I wonder when you'll see
That you don't bother me

So you can't tear me down
Beat me to the ground
Try to block my sunshine
My blue skies with your clouds
And who do you think you are
Yeah that won't get you far
You may think you're pretty
But you'll see that beauty
Is a fading flower
Fading flow-ow-ow-ower
Fading flow-ow-ow-ower

I spent all of my youth
Trying to be you
Thought that you were special
That you were beautiful
But the more of you I see
The more I'm glad I'm me

Cause you can't tear me down
Beat me to the ground
Try to block my sunshine
My blue skies with your clouds
And who do you think you are
Yeah that won't get you far (that won't get you far)
You may think you're pretty
But you'll see that beauty
Is a fading flower
Fading flow-ow-ow-ower (fading flower)
Fading flow-ow-ow-ower (fading flower)

Yuna (real name; Yunalis Zarai) is an acoustic/alternative/pop singer-songwriter originating from Selangor, Malaysia and is now based in Selangor, Malaysia and Los Angeles, US. She began making a mark for herself in the local independent scene in 2007, before releasing her demo in February 2008. Her debut EP, Yuna EP, was released in October 2008. Her debut album was finally released in July 2010, titled Decorate.

Yuna has been cementing herself in the local scene with complementary comparisons to the likes of Norah Jones and Rachael Yamagata. Her influences include Fiona Apple, Feist, Lykke Li, Sia, Bob Dylan and The Cardigans. Yuna describes her music as "a cross between Mary Poppins and Coldplay".

One of the first few people who expressed interest in her music was Farhan Fadzlishah aka Pa'an (Telephony Delivery), who later became her supporting guitarist. Along the way, Efry Arwis (Lightcraft) helped her with the bass while Adib handled the drums. Adil Ali (Seven Collar T-shirt) replaced Adib after the latter quit to concentrate on his drumming role in Oh Chentaku.

Yuna was eventually discovered in the US by the Indie-Pop record label and management company. They flew out to Malaysia to convince her to sign with them and then proceeded to get her a deal with Fader Label, a record label based in New York, in February 2011. She released her debut US EP, Decorate - EP, in the United States in March the same year. In February 2012, Yuna released her second Malaysian full-length album, Terukir Di Bintang. Her self-titled US full-length album, Yuna, was released on April 24, 2012.
