The musical life of an artist - his first hearings and the contact with an instrument, the stages where he play, the musicians who worked with, the public who heard him and the songs that influenced - is perhaps the most important information to understand this debut album of Meno Del Picchia.
Raised in Bragança Paulista, interior of Sao Paulo, Meno has lived together, on one hand, with his paternal family and the modernist legacy left by his great grandfather - the writer, painter and sculptor Menotti Del Picchia. On the other side were the “catira” dance and music, the “moda de viola” played by his grandfather Zicão (who recorded an album) and the traditional festivals of the interior of Sao Paulo, the legacy of the coexistence with his maternal family.
In the 90’s, Meno begins his studies of jazz and join his first band. At that time, his repertoire already covered a lot of genres and Meno could walk easily in all areas: from samba to rock, from jazz to pop.
It was this experience that discharges in his career as an instrumentalist, and let him play with musicians like Bocato, Tião Carvalho, Ricardo Teté, Danilo Morais, Ricardo Herz, Fabiana Cozza, Greg Wilson, Baião D4.
Recording this first album - which brings special guests like Bocato, Tatá Aeroplano, Zé Pi, Ju Polimeno, Gui Calzavara and Pedro Ito - Meno opened his box of inheritance and musical influences and added his trajectory as a composer, his desires, anxieties and fears, his skills as a instrumentalist, his family tree, his passion for music. This is a part of one life in 12 songs.
