Tryna run up 'fore my God take me
Got a scraper and I'm ready, rollin hella fuckin heavy
Through the city screaming "Forgive me!"
Got commas coming you can bet on that
Used to run around, let my headphones slap
Used to hit them licks with all my friends and them
My big homie pawn that shit
Then we spend that cash
Used to sit in back, telling slicks like hey
"Take a pic of that, send that shit my way"
Used to talk big game like "Bitch, run my fade"
But I'm soft as fuck, you know my ass got laid
The fuck I let go, got beefs callin my mom
She give me them whoopings when I get at home
Like I didn't just get my ass beat at the park
But it's cool, swear it's cool
I get love now I'm on that
She come to the shows and take shots with the fans
Got licks from the belt when got caught with the grams
Now I burn 'em with confidence all on my porch
Cause I'm home and I'm grown and I do it all for this
Singin

I'm coming home
Make a place for me
Let the love inside
Take the hate in me
Father forgive me
Father, father form my ways
If yesterday was wrong, I'll write 'em down today

I'm coming home
Make a place for me
Let the love inside
Take the hate in me
Father forgive me
Father, father form my ways
If yesterday was wrong, I'll write 'em down today

If I die before I wake, if I go before you do
Pray to god my family's straight
I'll pass 'em down a house or two
My grandson know his poppa was a fuckin legend in these streets
They play me out apartment windows
Soundtrack every metro seat

Tapatio still on my popcorn
Ride around still calling shotgun
Never really gave the homies gas money
But I'm whippin now I'm screamin that I got us
Cause the homies they knew
I had something special, and I knew it too
I tell 'em to give me some time when
"We all gon' be straight,
gon' be hoes at them shows, and a boat for the lake"
Aw damn
Oh God now
Daddy say we warriors
We from the res, we beat that cancer, beat addiction
Fuck with us
We let too many dudes with no money talk
It was Fallon
So I'm silent when I move
And the numbers speak for me now
I'm comin

I'm coming home
Make a place for me
Let the love inside
Take the hate in me
Father forgive me
Father, father form my ways
If yesterday was wrong, I'll write 'em down today

I'm coming home
Make a place for me
Let the love inside
Take the hate in me
Father forgive me
Father, father form my ways
If yesterday was wrong, I'll write 'em down today
I'm coming home
Make a place for me
Let the love inside
Take the hate in me

Father Forgive Me Lyrics

Okay, okay, okay
Got marijuana all in my palms
Got honey mustard all in my jeans
Got Based God slappin in my car
"O'Block" and the "Fuck KD"
Got a list full of all my wrongs
Tryna run up 'fore my God take me
Got a scraper and I'm ready, rollin hella fuckin heavy
Through the city screaming "Forgive me!"
Got commas coming you can bet on that
Used to run around, let my headphones slap
Used to hit them licks with all my friends and them
My big homie pawn that shit
Then we spend that cash
Used to sit in back, telling slicks like hey
"Take a pic of that, send that shit my way"
Used to talk big game like "Bitch, run my fade"
But I'm soft as fuck, you know my ass got laid

Seattle rapper Travis Thompson's playful sound is guided by rhymes that combine evocative description and candid emotion. A protégé of Macklemore, he released music independently beginning in 2015. After being featured on Macklemore's 2017 song "Corner Store," he made his major-label debut with the 2019 EP Runaways, which he followed the same year with the album Reckless Endangerment. His third LP, the 2021's BLVD BOY, featured guest spots from the likes of G-Eazy and Juicy J.

Raised partly in suburban White Center and based in Burien, Washington, Travis Thompson began writing rhymes as a school kid but became more serious about pursuing music as a career in his late teens. He released his debut EP, Living for the Future, in 2015. Around that time, local icons Macklemore and Ryan Lewis founded a youth program called The Residency, which brought in local promoters, agents, and others with behind-the-scenes knowledge of managing a career in the arts to speak to low-income kids. Thompson signed on, reportedly impressing Macklemore not only with his rapping skills but with his enthusiasm; Thompson returned to the program as a paid intern the following year. In the meantime, he released the Ambaum mixtape in 2016.

His big break came in late 2017 when Macklemore featured Thompson alongside Dave B on the single "Corner Store." They performed the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, marking Thompson's television debut. He followed up with the album YouGood? in mid-2018. After signing with Blvd Boys/Epic, Thompson released the Runaways EP in early 2019 which set the table for the full-length Reckless Endangerment later that year.
