The Hive-Mind is a progressive rock band from Ocean County, New Jersey. While beginning in the fall of 2012 as a simple amalgamation of disciplined talent and unrestricted intentions their agenda has solidified into a fresh, unique, and powerful sound without the aid, crutch, or existence of vocal melodies. Today, while pushing the boundaries of the instrumental genre they readily challenge themselves in the process. Their thirteen song debut album Monitor will be made available to the public summer 2014.

Composed of four different members and instruments; Jake Hughes, Erik Nivison, Chris Paprota, and Jake Whittaker strive for innovation and originality which showcases a one of a kind balancing act between dynamic maturity, structural innovation, and the relentless capabilities of their respective instruments: piano, guitar, drums, and bass. The Hive-Mind boasts a highly refined live performance which not only exemplifies their studio work, but often will surpass it.

Though often frequenting lesser known venues, that does not imply any opposition to the contrary specifically. An intimate audience of open minded individuals is preferable to any pyramid shaped function currently being popularized by well known venues. Places that support and encourage original artists such as McIntyre's Pub, The Saint, Chico's House of Jazz, Urban Nest, 610 Bangs, The Revolutionary Lounge, find support from The Hive-Mind in return.
