René G. Boscio is Puerto Rican composer/songwriter. He began his studies in composition at the Conservatory of Music in Puerto Rico in the year 2008. He is currently undergoing his bachelor's degree under the wing of the great pianist and composer Alfonso Fuentes. In his short musical career Mr. Boscio has been awarded several recognitions and prizes. In 2009 he was awarded ASCAP Foundation Rudy Pérez Songwriting Scholarship, he also received honorable mentions in the New York Songwriters Circle 2009 Songwriting Contest and the BMI Foundation's 2010 Annual Peer Music Latin Scholarship for his songs 'Forever For You' and 'El día más bello del mundo'. He has written over 50 songs and musical compositions for just about every instrument in the orchestral tradition. René has also worked in the independent film industry scoring soundtracks for 3 short films, one of which, titled Valor, produced by Bianca Estrella Noroñas, won Best Short Film and People's Choice Award in the Plaza Las Américas Plaza Studios Competition. He was commissioned to write a piece for the Puerto Rican modern dance company 'Andanza'. His goals are to pursue a career in writing music for media and theatre, as well as working in the songwriter's market for various artists.
