Boy Throb is an American boy band based in Los Angeles, California; consisting of members Anthony Key, Darshan Magdum, Evan Papier, and Zachary Sobania. The group rented a house in Hollywood to collaborate on music together. During this time, they have been advocating for the approval of member Darshan’s U.S. Visa so he can be with them in the states. Their defining feature is the bright pink customized tracksuits that they wear, paired with bright yellow sneakers. They cite KATSEYE, *NSYNC, and The Jackson 5 as their musical influences.

The group creates fun and upbeat covers of popular songs that they upload to their TikTok, such as their covers of The Fate of Ophelia by Taylor Swift and Manchild by Sabrina Carpenter. The group made their social media debut on TikTok with a bold hook, “We’re going to win a Grammy.” They followed by asked their fans to help them reach one-million followers to assist in getting Darshan’s visa approved. Another video that gained the boys momentum features the members performing a cover of What Dreams Are Made Of by Hillary Duff in a nursing home, with Darshan joining via video chat.

Anthony Key made his debut with his single Key to My Heart in February of 2021. He has done many pop-up shows at festivals and events around the United States. On TikTok he posts many videos, such as day-to-day vlogs, live performance clips, and behind the scenes footage of his music videos. He also appeared as a contestant in season 19 of American Idol, where he sang Dynamite by BTS.

Darshan Magdum made his debut with a cover of As It Was by Harry Styles in 2022. Beforehand, he quickly gained momentum on social media platforms with his covers of Hymn for the Weekend by Coldplay and Blinding Lights by The Weekend. He was then posted onto Bruno Mars’ and Rosé’s Instagram stories after his cover of the pairs APT picked up traction on social media.

Evan Papier made his debut with his single Far Away in April of 2020. He first gained popularity on TikTok by making dance videos featuring his own choreography and covers of popular songs. He was also featured in a livestream hosted by TikTok comedian Terri Joe which brought about a lot of new fans.

Zachary Sobania made his debut featuring on a single by IONAS called The Tides are Numbered in August of 2020. He studied at Berklee College of Music and is skilled in multiple instruments such as piano and guitar. He is known for making silly dance videos to popular songs on TikTok where he gained a large following. Outside of his online presence, he lives a relatively private life.
