First Signs of the Aftermath were formed by school friends Thom Hollands (guitar), Scott Bane (bass) and Neil Ward (drums). They began writing music in their current guise in 2005, with their first gig at a local labour club being cut short for being too loud. Early reviews described their math-rock sound as ‘intricate and shambolic in equal measures’.

The band describe themselves in their own words as ‘loving the way the trees look in autumn and the smell of the ocean, but disliking rude people and really slow wifi’.
