Ty G is a multi-instrumentalist, musician and composer from the New York City area. His sound is influenced by the likes of J Dilla, Flying Lotus, Freddie Joachim, and jazz artists such as Chet Baker, Ahmad Jamal, Bill Evans, among others.

He has played piano since the age of five, guided by a love of music from his grandmother Ruth Greenfield, a pianist and teacher from Miami who was integral in bringing racial integration to the arts community in Miami since the 1950s.
