Founded by Viggo ÖRSAN (guitar) and Jonas LUNDQUIST (vocals), who grew up together in Stockholm, Sweden. This union was the beginning of the band Karmanjakah, which they describe as "the sound of an abandoned metropolis, reclaimed by nature." The pair was soon joined by Lukas OHLSSON (bass) and Sebastian BRYDNIAK (drums).

Their debut, self-titled EP was released in 2016 to much acclaim from the progressive metal community. This influenced the band to continue writing more music and was ready to start recording their debut album "A Book About Itself" in January of 2019. The album was finally released in February of 2021 along with the single and video for the track "First Sun". According to the band, the album was "inspired by our inner infinity, chaos theory and the recursion of life, and a world that feels like it's constantly on the tipping point."

The music can easily be described as dreamy, atmospheric, dynamic and solid progressive metal with a strong djent style and will appeal to fans of PERIPHERY, ANIMALS AS LEADERS, PLINI, TESSERACT, UNEVEN STRUCTURE, GHOST IRIS, VILDHJARTA, THE DALI THUNDERING CONCEPT, JOHARI and KADINJA.
