They didn't have inflated egos, they didn't have eccentric fashion, and they would never shouts their mouths off in the NME, but this was a band to treasure. They wrote straight-forward old-fashioned jangly indie-pop songs. Their influences were worn firmly on their sleeve (The Smiths and The Go-Betweens being two of note) but this was something that just made them more honest and refreshing, rather than detract from their greatness.
