Takahiro Izutani, known artistically as Dugo, is an esteemed electronic music producer and guitarist based in Tokyo. In the late 1990s, Izutani showcased his guitar skills with the progressive rock band Happy Family. During this period, he contributed to two albums released by Cuneiform Records in the United States. Following the band's dissolution, he ventured into the Japanese music industry as a producer, simultaneously initiating his solo project, Dugo. The name, derived from the Tagalog word for 'blood' or 'family,' reflects his cultural influences. Dugo's music, characterized by a unique rhythmic structure, echoes the styles of Bonobo, Burial, Four Tet, and Massive Attack, while its melancholic ambiance draws parallels with The Cinematic Orchestra, Max Richter, Max Cooper, Jon Hopkins, and Ólafur Arnalds.

Dugo gained media attention when his early track "Dublin" was featured in the 2006 episode of "CSI: Miami" Season 3. In the wake of Japan's devastating tsunami in 2011, Izutani rededicated himself to his artistry. He released Dugo's debut album "Lingua Franca" in 2017 through Brave Wave Productions, followed by the "Recluse" EP in 2020, with some tracks penned during his battle with COVID-19.
