On March 14, 2006, Nicole Holness was named among the seven hosts of MTV Canada and its new flagship show, MTV Live. Marking the comeback of MTV to Canada, MTV Live was announced as a live & interactive evening program addressing pertinent social, political, and entertainment issues. Premiering on March 21, 2006 at 6 PM EST, MTV Live reached homes across the country from the historic Masonic Temple (Toronto).

Nicole Holness was already familiar to many Canadians prior to the launch of MTV Live. An experienced musician and performer, Nicole was the lead personality in urban/R&B group X-Quisite. The other members were Nirvana Savoury and Terri Oliver. Melanie Fiona and Andreena Mill were also briefly members at different points. The group ended being narrowed down to just Holness, who took on the moniker as a solo artist. The group earned a 2004 JUNO nomination for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year along with Glenn Lewis and Tamia, and at the ceremony was named Best Dressed by The Edmonton Sun. X-Quisite snagged nominations as Best New Artist at the 2002 Urban Music Awards of Canada and Best New Artist (CHR) at the 2002 Canadian Radio Awards, as well as Favourite Urban Artist at the 2004 Canadian Independent Music Awards. X-Quisite's early career was also distinguished by being the #1 Independent Canadian Artist on Canadian radio, with singles such as "No Regrets" (#1 most played song on Canadian radio in 2002), "Bad Girl", and "Sassy Thang" (#3 Canadian CHR) receiving solid support across radio formats. In addition to the self-titled debut CD, X-Quisite can also be heard on the Planet Pop 4 (BMG) CD, and on hit television shows such as Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Nicole Holness has carried on as a solo artist using her real name, and released the album Unreleased in March 2011. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
