Formed in 2007 and based in Austin, Texas, the Black Drumset is composed of permanent members Brian Willey and Carlos Orozco with a rotating cast of others. Willey was previously a member of the Chicago based group Ribbon Effect and Orozco formerly played with Mendoza Line and Western Keys.

Sharing influences with groups as diverse as These Are Powers, Caribou, Mogwai and Holy Fuck, the Black Drumset integrates elements of experimental rock, electronic, psych, and drone music.
