Annita Ray was a New York singer active from the late 1950s to mid 1960s. Her first single was released in 1957 after she had appeared in the film "Shake, Rattle and Roll" the previous year. Together with Diane Hall she was in Ray Anthony's first line-up of the female duo he created, The Bookends, that sang with his band from 1960 into 1961.

Annita Ray released "Glow" , her only solo album, in 1963. In 1964 that she re-teamed with Diane Hall as the duo Diane & Annita for two releases, the first being "One By One" written by Artie Wayne who coached the girls when they recorded his song in 1965.
