Giant Monsters on the Horizon exemplifies all of the pitch-black goodness that makes the retro-futurist movement so interesting. Armed with shimmering synths, vocoders and ambitions as robust as their beats, Vincent Saletto and Madison Olivia Davis create an amalgam of Wax Trax!-ish darkwave / EDM / Electro that pulsates and permeates throughout the night. St. Louis hadn’t had an Electro band to get behind for more than a decade, but with songs like “Wetwork,” “The Illusion of War”, ''DEL CTRL & ESC'', ''HunterKiller'', ''Disciples of a False Prophet'' and their clanging overhaul of Depeche Mode's “Never Let Me Down Again”, Giant Monsters on the Horizon are determined to change that. The duo has worked with the likes of Assemblage 23, Covenant, GosT, Dance with the Dead, Youth Code, and Angelspit and counts five releases so far, while aside from their forthcoming new album, a sci-fi film (Lamina) is due to be released, the score of which is penned by no- other than them along with more, way bigger things that can be seen approaching on the horizon, exactly as their moniker since day one had predicted.
