Matthew Nicholson is an up and coming singer songwriter for south east London, his music is a stripped back sound, of an acoustic guitar with simple backing of a piano and strings.

In Matt’s own words:
“I’ve always put my heart and soul into my music, sometimes a little too much I think. But I’ve always been a believer that a good song, a really good song comes from what the person writing it is feeling and living at that moment in time. I always tried to feel the music, when I write. This may sound strange, but I am a self taunt musician. I learnt to play the guitar from listening and trying to copy songs and from guitar tab. I couldn't tell you what key I play in or things like that because I never learnt them, my style of guitar is all about feeling what is right at the time of playing it. Some times it's rubbish, but sometimes you play something a little special which makes you smile. I would say my writing style has change over time, and like any artist it has developed I feel that sound that defines your music and your genre”.
