He Said, She's Dead was born out of high school friendships and late nights at the local mall, where six teenagers decided to turn their shared love of heavy music into something bigger.
The lineup: Zeke XIII, Matthew Critchfield, John Falchetta, Mike Jensen, Steven Salka, and Mitch Prosch, poured themselves into writing, rehearsing, and playing anywhere that would have them.
Their sound, a raw and emotional strain of post-hardcore, quickly earned attention in the Bay Area scene. Known for their intensity on stage, they shared bills with touring acts like Eyes Set to Kill, Drop Dead, Gorgeous, and We’re Not Friends Anymore.
In 2010, the band released their lone full length, To Whom It May Concern, a record packed with cathartic hooks and fan favorites like “You’re So Cute I Could Beat You Up.” By then, their shows had become a proving ground for passion and chaos, capped by a final, memorable performance at Red House in Walnut Creek, California.
Though their run was brief, He Said, She’s Dead captured the restless energy of their generation. Today, their music lives on through streaming, connecting with listeners around the world who continue to discover the sparks left behind. Read more on Last.fm.
