With the world of music taking different forms and expanding constantly, originality has become the key to real success; some try to fit in but others like Amah aka Da Griot develop their own style and approach to this art that we indeed call Hip hop. For someone who was born in Togo West-Africa, left during political troubles, ended up in New York city then DC Washington's roughest neighborhoods, joined the military and was sent to Afghanistan after 911 then Iraq a year later, Da Griot have seen enough in such a short time to stimulate his rapping skills and make him incredibly talented. By definition, a griot is the real origin of hip hop, just as drums come from the motherland, back in the days in Africa, a griot was the walking CNN, going from villages to villages, tribes to tribes to deliver the messages to the people, using his instrument made out of cowhide and calabash, he was well respected for his knowledge and wisdom, and whenever he spoke, EVERYONE LISTENED. Amah have a message to the world.
