Benji Kay is an Oklahoma City based piano pop rock band. It was started as a one-man project by a kid named Lance Benjamin Dodson who after teaching himself to play guitar, bass, piano, and drums began to tackle music production, engineering and programming. Although he continued to mostly record his tracks on his own, he performs with a group consisting of:

Kevin Tran: Bass guitar
John Gowin: Drums
Chance Dodson: Guitar

Seeing as every member of the band plays multiple instruments, roles in Benji Kay's live shows tend to change around a bit from song to song, but usually Benji plays either piano, guitar, or both in a song.

The band is known for straight-forward rock pop songs like Wide Awake (She's a fire and I'm the one that burns) and Something Like the Academy and piano rock songs like Story of Our Last Night. They are currently working on a new album, to be entitled Pop or Death, which will contain piano pop ballads like Another Life: A Short Story, emo pop tunes like Sweet and Sad, and piano pop rock like You're a Star and Black and Breathless, all of which can already be heard on their official website, benjikay.com, or on their Myspace site, myspace.com/benjikay.
