Nívea da Costa Soares is a gospel music icon in Brazil and performed backup vocals for the worship ministry Diante do Trono in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. At first she was only known for her solos she performed for Diante do Trono, but in 2003 began to sing on her own. Nívea Soares is the youngest sister in her family of four children. She was born and raised in a Christian family and decided early on that she would always sing Christian music. At the age of 15, she began to work in the music industry by writing and singing jingles for companies. At the same time she met David Quinlan whose friendship and influence helped her write her first song. She performed it at a music festival and won first place.
