Founding members Tim and Mike formed the Make Out Kings of Montana in the early 2000's then disbanded after the release of their first and only album "panda bear knife fight" in 2003. In 2009 the band reunited to record "lady di" for 22 songs for Jeremy: A memorial to Jeremy Sangster.

In 2010 the pair started recording Surf's up, Ohio! at West Lake studios in Cleveland. The Kings added new members Matt and Jenny and changed their name to School Night.
