The Dead Letters are a band from Kendal, Cumbria whose musical influences include alternative rock bands such as The Smashing Pumpkins & Nirvana, and also more melodic, power pop influences such as The Posies & Teenage Fanclub.
Counterbalancing the heavier side there are also more introspective lyrical moments that echo artist such as Elliott Smith.

To date the band have had 2 tracks released on new local label Lakeland Records Ltd compilation CD’s and follow this with EP ‘….by a Thousand Cuts’. The EP, recorded in the remote wilderness of the Lake District with producer Guy Forrester (Shack, OMD, The Real People) is a snapshot of the band who’s early work has drawn praise from the like of Bootleg Magazine (US), Planet Sound (Teletext/Online), and from American musician Ken Stringfellow (Posies, REM, Big Star) whose music is a big influence on the band.
