Tylea's creations have a way of reaching into the souls of the people who experience them.

Sometimes deeply moody, at other times quirky & funny, her ability to move people through her honest lyrics leaves a lasting impact.

Tylea's heartfelt, melodic songwriting is showcased with the release of her first solo long player - a "discbook" entitled Colour Your Insecurities (out now on Reverie Records & Books).

Entitled Colour Your Insecurities, the double album gestated over the course of an emotional two years and features two stylistically contrasting CDs, with music reflecting Tylea's "Light" side and her "Dark" side. (Actually, the Light side is still pretty Dark).

The first pressing of Colour Your Insecurities is packaged within a beautiful illustrated discbook of around 50 of Tylea's famous black-and-white character drawings, with a coloured felt pen for the purpose of colouring one's insecurities. Very Tylea.

Tylea co-produced Colour Your Insecurities with her producer husband Lachlan 'Magoo' Goold, except for the song Nervous which was co-written and produced by Iceland's Valgeir Sigurdsson (Mum, Bjork).

Before this, Tylea played in a band called Gota Cola, with Skritch and Lexie Gillespie. She's been performing as a soloist since 1994, and has released a the solo EPs Bellowing Flower (1994), Tylea... with a T (1997). Gota Cola released a self-titled EP in 1999 as well as 2001's Guaranteed Rustless album.

Together with Magoo and percussionist Marcel Lip, Tylea also released an EP in 2002 called Tylea...and the Imaginary Music Score.

Previously, Tylea was best known for her work as singer/guitarist for Brisbane band Gota Cola, who played with: the Cruel Sea, Tex Perkins, Something For Kate, Crooked Fingers, Sea Life Park, Gerling, Not From There, Tortoise, Powderfinger, Custard, the Mad Professor, Billy Bragg, StereoLab, Ben Lee. Festivals include: Livid, Big Day Out, Woodford, Falls, Glenworth Valley.
