Naomi has been singing, and later playing flute, guitar and banjo, on an award-winning series of bluegrass children’s albums on American Melody, a label founded and run by her father, since she was five years old.

Beginning in 2002, Naomi released a series of her own records on American Melody. Her two albums of original songs, Flying Through and Hypnotized, attracted much critical praise and national and international radio airplay. In 2006 she teamed up with Lisa Bastoni to record Gray Sky Girls, an "old-time country slowgrass" featuring :guitar, banjo, mandolin, and sweet close-harmony vocals, on traditional and original tunes."

Gentle as the Sun was released in October 2008. Recorded in Nashville and produced by Jim Rooney, Rock and Reel magazine described the album as blending "bluegrass, folk and old-timey music" and as "a polished collection of her songs (and one cover).
