Chris was born into music. His father owned the first jazz nightclub in Anchorage Alaska in the late fifties, after fleeing the sizzling LA, California jazz scene. From the day he could walk, talk, or remember a line, Chris has been on stage, in theater, music, radio, nightclubs ... coast to coast, and beyond. He was born in the Year of Rock n Roll, 1955. He has no major credentials to his name, after doing music professionally since 1970.

While playing in various bands, or as a "solo" act throughout his career, Chris has found himself on the same bill with acts like the Marshall Tucker Band, Edgar Winter, Firefall, Dave Mason, and more. His last full band project, Alien Cowboy (1992 - 2000), was a fixture on the "classic southern rock" circuit in the Denver region, performing over a hundred nights a year; culminating in a twelve show -- five week tour of England in 2000. Since then, either solo, or in a duo with Miss Pattie and various "Friends," Chris has performed alongside: Jesse Dayton, the Railbenders, Reckless Kelly, Guy Clark, Buckskin Stallion, Angie Stevens, John Common, Rainville, John Davis, Halden Wofford, Micky & the Motorcars, Cross Canadian Ragweed, the Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, and other nationally, regionally, and locally well known (and not so well known) brothers and sisters in music.

Today, Chris' music reflects all the diverse elements of his lifelong appreciation for Americana music. His performances incorporate country, folk, jazz, blues, rhythm & blues, southern rock, and bluegrass from a palate of songs written by himself and others more famous than he has ever been or will ever hope to be.

Chris K., aka the Goat, is no stranger to the Colorado music scene ... he has been on the air in Northern Colorado off and on since 1977, with on-air stints at KRFC (the Colorado Sound, and the Americana based Morning Mix), KPAW (classic rock), KGLL (country), KCSU (public radio, Americana, rock & jazz shows), KSQI (AOR & AAA), KIMN (CHR / Hot AC), KUAD (Top 40 / AC) and more. He is arguably the first dj in NoCo to have ever played a rap record on the radio (KUAD - 1978) or in a mainstream, mass-appeal dance-club (Theo's, Greeley, 1978).

Over the decades, Chris' articles, essays, criticisms, reviews, and editorials have appeared online and in local, regional and national publications like Scene Magazine, FMQB, the Album Network, GodsofMusic.com, Makeastar.com, C0nsensus.com and more. Chris also books bands into various venues regionally, has appeared on many regional stages as performer and/or emcee, and has done front of house sound and recording work.

Known affectionately as the "picky grumpy old goat" by his closest friends, Chris K. has been a character in the music scene along the Front Range of Colorado in four decades now.
