Satellite Voices are a futurist pop band based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Formed during a short hiatus from lead vocalist Knol Tate’s seminal Twin Cities project, Askeleton, in the summer of 2009, Satellite Voices consists of former and current members of other notable acts such as Hidden Chord, One For the Team, The Swiss Army, Spirit of ‘76, Communist Daughter and Dance Band.

The group draws on an eclectic variety of influences from their collective past and repurposes them to create unique new sounds for the decades to come. Satellite Voices combine elements of futurism and experimentation along with clever instrumentation and an intelligent approach to songwriting creating what some have labeled a minimalist approach to modern complexity.

Songs like, The Typewriter & the Telephone and History of Humans exhibit the bands ability to create a stark simplicity while remaining engaging to the listener. Meanwhile, songs like Infinite Us, A Single Cell and Handsome Poets exhibit the pop sensibility that combines lush, dynamic soundscapes with thoughtful and imaginative lyrics resulting in innovative and memorable singles.

Their self-produced, debut full length recording, “Scarlet Rays of Future Echoes” will be available for digital download from Past/Futures Records on November 2nd, 2010 and on long play vinyl in early 2011 through Red Eye Distribution.
