Tamarind
is a unique vocalist whose music is a powerful combination of Indian melodies and poetic English lyrics. She has collaborated with artists from a variety of genres including Loop Guru, Talvin Singh, Jack Irons, Alex Gibson, Facing East, and Gawain Mathews.

She has performed in many countries around the world including Ireland, England, Venice, Fiji and the US. During 2006 and 2007 she toured with the U.K. based ariel dance company Fidget Feet, singing and dancing while suspended in the sky from a crane.

Tamarind has been studying North Indian Classical vocal and instrumental music under Maestro Ali Akbar Khan since 1993, and has performed in many of the Ali Akbar College of Music's concerts and festivals. She also teaches supplementary classes at the college and mentors new students.

Her second release, Sounds Alone is the result of a creative collaboration with LA-based producer Alex Gibson (Art of Peace, Stuart Davis and David Lee Roth). Sounds Alone has been reviewed by Karl Anderson of Global Recording Artists as "Hauntingly beautiful, sung with the voice of an angel. A mesmerizing sound that will soothe your soul and lift your spirit toward the light in the universe. A breath of fresh air from the void of modern music." And by Paul Liberatore of the Marin Independent Journal, "Sounds Alone is exotic and yet accessible, different from anything I’ve heard before."
