Siggy is an independent rock band from Los Angeles, California. They released their new CD The Absinthe Effect at a lavish release party at the Echoplex in Silverlake, CA on May 17, 2008. The show with indie stalwarts Earlimart and upstarts Light FM was a mob scene.

Siggy plays raw, passionate music in the vein of Television, The Velvet Underground and The White Stripes. The Absinthe Effect was recorded in collaboration with producer Dave Trumfio (American Music Club, Wilco, Jesus and Mary Chain). “Siggy is Bowie with a set of balls,” Trumfio muttered during a 12-hour mixing session. With its existential themes, sweeping melodies, dynamic rhythm and intermittent cello accompaniment, Absinthe is one of the most vital releases in 2008. Read more on Last.fm.
