FOXCULT is an all trans post-hardcore band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 2022. Known for their powerful blend of post-hardcore and shoegaze with dense soundscapes, the band features lead vocalist Tiaday Ball, guitarists Ashley Carrera & Lauren Shimizu, drummer Mia Dawn, and bassist Faye Sardonica. Carrera, the band's lead guitarist and principal songwriter, describes herself as the "resident madwoman" and manages the band's online presence.

The band initially underwent several lineup changes. The early roster included vocalist Julian Comeau of Loveless, guitarist Riley Nuala and bassist Madeline Winter. Vocalist Audrey Lane joined in 2022, bringing her production skills and creative input on vocal melodies and guitar compositions. She also handles much of the band’s visual content, from graphic design to music videos.

FOXCULT released their debut single, “Haunted,” in February 2023, followed by “The Garden” in April, which gained significant traction, amassing over 400,000 streams on Spotify and bringing in thousands of new listeners. The band signed with Adventure Cat Records in May, an independent label that supports the band’s identity and artistic direction. Their debut label single, “GLACIER,” mixed by Sam Guaiana and mastered by Mike Kalajian, was released in August. Carrera and Lane have shared that they feel right at home with Adventure Cat Records, and that they have been given creative freedom and encouragement to express their queer identities and share their experiences through music.

The debut EP, THE INDIGO VAULT, was released on November 17, 2023. Carrera describes it as an "introspective look into the trans experience," with Lane emphasizing that her lyrics use metaphor and allegory to connect deeply with listeners. Their live debut took place on December 3, 2023, at Madam Lou’s in Seattle.

In 2024, FOXCULT continued releasing new music, starting with singles "WORMHOLE," "ASTRAL GALLERY," and "GEMINI 4," leading up to the concept EP THE AMETHYST DRIFT, released on July 19. This EP incorporates themes of space exploration as allegories for the trans experience, blending atmospheric soundscapes with intense post-hardcore influences.

On October 15th 2024, Audrey Lane announced that she would be stepping down as the lead vocalist of the band, and that she would be "moving exclusively into a production and creative-oriented role within the team". A few months later, Tiaday Ball became FOXCULT's new vocalist, making their debut on "THE EMERALD GROVE", which also features Tom Byrne of Galleons.

With the release of another single called "CITY OF RUST", the band announced their debut LP "WATERCOLORS: THE EMERALD GROVE", which is set to release on September 12th, 2025. Read more on Last.fm.
