Since the release of their first album, ENVOL as part of the 2011 fall season of the «Réseau Accès
Culture», Duo Beija-Flor’s performances have been heard on radio stations and concert stages
throughout Canada and the U.S. The duo has been a featured guest on several programs including, «90
minutes au pluriel», «Entremuse» and «L’escouade M» on CIBL 101,5fm as well as Global
Television’s «Morning News», for their unique combination of world and contemporary classical
music. Their concert, «Fleurs du Monde», was recorded and broadcast on television for the fall 2012
season of the show, «L’heure du Concert» on TVCK.

The duo was named a laureate in the competition, «Mon Accès à la Scène» in 2011 and was a recipient
of a grant in 2012 from the promotional musical funds from the GMMQ which enabled them to
produce a promotional video of their program entitled, «Muzica Gitana». Duo Beija-Flor recorded
their second album in March 2013 (engineer/producer A.-M. Sylvestre) entitled, MUZICA, which was
released in October 2013 and presents music from Oriental Europe and features Duo Beija-Flor’s
unique gypsy arrangement of Bela Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dances.

In constant search of new material, the duo is currently working alongside several composers to expand their set «Viva Latina!» which will incorporate music found in the Latin countries that border the
Atlantic coast. This set features not only the piece, «Havana Street Parade», a work based on Cuban
Jazz, written for the duo by Canadian composer Roddy Ellias, but also includes Duo Beija-Flor’s
