Closet Drama began in April 2008 as a solo project. Charlie from the recently broken up pop punk quartet Joe Jitsu was not ready to give up songwriting and began recording demos under the aforementioned name, taken from the dictionary definition:

Closet Drama(noun): a play to be read rather than performed.

Since Charlie would only be recording at home and never playing any shows the name fit.

In September 2008 after a move to Austin, Charlie began missing the thrill of live shows and got in touch with ex Joe Jitsu drummer Tron about joining him in a search for a full band. Tron, who had also been missing the band days decided to give it another go and the search began!

After a couple of months and some tryouts Tron and Charlie finally stumbled upon Eric and Dan from the Austin band Thirty Yard Stare. The four instantly clicked and the music magicly fell into place. The previous demos took on a new life and new songs were practically writing themselves with the many talents of the new guitarists.

As of January 2009 Closet Drama has been a living, breathing full band.
